Third Party Inspection Service for Amazon FBA Sellers
Selling on Amazon via FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) requires strict adherence to quality standards and compliance with Amazon’s guidelines. Here’s why inspection and testing are critical for success:
To ensure that you follow Amazon’s strict FBA rules, we strongly recommend using an Amazon FBA inspection service for your shipments from China.
To protect your reputation and keep your customers’ trust, every shipment needs to meet Amazon’s guidelines before it leaves the factory.
Your main goal as an FBA seller is to get and sell high-quality products. Damaged or poorly packed goods lead to returns, negative reviews, and – in repeated cases – account suspension.
Flying to China yourself to check every shipment isn’t realistic once travel and accommodation costs are factored in. A third-party inspection company gives you the same on-the-ground verification without the cost or time commitment – the inspection is handled by local experts who already know what Amazon requires.
This matters more as Amazon’s marketplace gets more competitive: a single bad review can do outsized damage to a listing. Working with an experienced Amazon FBA inspection provider like AQI Service ensures your products are checked against Amazon’s actual requirements before they ship – not after a customer complains.
An Amazon FBA inspection is performed at the end of the supply chain, once products are packed and ready to ship. It checks your shipment against Amazon’s detailed FBA requirements before goods go to the fulfillment center, so problems are caught and fixed at the factory rather than after Amazon rejects the shipment.
AQI Service handles this end-to-end, so your products aren’t rejected by Amazon over a quality or compliance issue that could have been caught earlier.
Most suppliers respond faster to corrective requests when a portion of payment is still outstanding – full payment removes that leverage.
Many sellers fail to meet Amazon’s strict requirements and have products rejected as a result of not following Amazon’s FBA regulations. An Amazon FBA inspection is what stands between a seller and a rejected, delayed, or penalized shipment.
1. Avoid Product Rejection
Inspected shipments are far less likely to be rejected at the fulfillment center
2. Improve Product Quality
Catching issues before shipment strengthens brand reputation and customer retention over time
3. Successful storage and shipping
Correct labeling and packaging checks help ensure goods reach the right warehouse without penalties
4. Avoid last-minute surprises
Catching issues at the factory avoids costly delays and disruption downstream
Amazon’s inbound rejection rates have been rising as its FBA requirements get stricter – see our guide to avoiding FBA inbound rejections for the latest data and a full checklist.
Here are different types of inspection services for Amazon FBA shipments:
Catches problems before goods are packed and ready to ship, when corrections are still easy and cheap
Every unit in the shipment is checked
Approximately 10% of units are checked.
Samples are selected using AQL sampling methodology.
Full inspection costs more but is the most reliable method. If a partial sample of 100 units turns up 20 defective pieces, that’s a strong signal more defects exist in the batch you didn’t check. At that point, you’re deciding between accepting the risk or paying for a full inspection to be certain – and a full inspection is usually the safer call for higher-value or higher-risk orders.
However, please note that 100% inspection cannot fully guarantee that every unit is flawless. Product quality is affected by many factors, and full‑inspection as merely the final step may not be sufficient.
Our company will send inspectors familiar with Amazon FBA inspections at the end of the manufacturing process. These inspectors will look for the following things in the seller’s products:
Amazon’s packaging and labeling regulations vary by destination country – requirements for the US differ from the UK, which differ again from Germany.
FNSKU is Amazon’s way of identifying a product as unique to the seller who supplied it to the fulfillment center. Amazon offers 11 FNSKU label specifications; sellers choose the one appropriate to their product. The most common format is a “40-up” label at 52.5mm x 29.7mm on A4.
Minimum print size for poly bag warning labels scales with bag size:
| Total Length Plus Width of Bag | Minimum Print Size |
|---|---|
| 60 inches or more | 24 point |
| 40 to 59 inches | 18 point |
| 30 to 39 inches | 14 point |
| less than 29 inches | 10 point |
Units meant to be sold as a set must not be separated. These must be identified and labeled as a set on their external packaging, so Amazon treats them as a single sellable unit.
Required on poly bags with an opening of 5 inches or larger. Warning labels must be legible and placed on the most visible face of the packaging; required font size scales with bag size (see table above).
Placed on the outermost packaging or carton to communicate shipment data to Amazon. These are generated automatically when you create a new delivery plan in Seller Central.
Used for small units packed and labeled individually in separate boxes. An SPD shipment may include products from multiple sellers and pass through several drop-off points along the way.
Amazon FBA sellers must meet a long list of requirements before products can be sold through the FBA program – products need to arrive defect-free and properly prepared, or the consequences range from repacking fees to shipment rejection to account-level penalties.
An Amazon FBA inspection catches manufacturing and compliance issues at the factory, before they become your problem – and before they become your customer’s problem. It saves money and time, and it protects the reviews and account health your business depends on.
