Third-Party Textile and Garment Inspection Services
Customers hold garments and textiles to a high bar, especially products sold to children. A defect that slips through, a shade mismatch, a late shipment, any of these can hit your business finances and reputation directly. Retailers sourcing textiles and garments from China and Asia need every part of that supply chain checked before it becomes a returns problem.
AQI Service inspects the full range of textiles, garments, and home textiles, jackets, shirts, jeans, sweatwear, sleepwear, underwear, snow suits, workwear, gloves, hats, socks, belts, scarves, cushions, and blankets. Each inspection verifies quality, specifications, function, and safety, and we help clients confirm compliance with US, EU, and other applicable standards through our partner labs.
How We Inspect Your Garments and Textiles

Every inspection is built around your own product specifications, not a generic template. We combine our garment inspection checklists with your requirements, then verify quality against your Acceptance Quality Limits (AQL) (see how AQL 2.5 and AQL 4.0 apply to garment defects in our AQL Garment Inspection guide), classifying defects by category to give you a clear read on the shipment before it leaves the factory.
Fabric checks cover color shading, color fastness (dry and wet rub), fabric weight for knits, and burn testing for 100% cotton garments. (For the full range of fabric issues we look for, see our Fabric Defects Guide.)
Sewing and construction checks cover seam strength on sewn articles, symmetry, size fitting, and needle damage checks on knitted garments. (A breakdown of how these defects get caught, and missed, before shipment: Garment Defect Identification and Remediation.)
Trim and accessory checks cover fastener fatigue and zip quality, adhesive fastness on logos and printing, care labeling, barcode scanning, and down feather leakage testing where relevant.
On-site measurements and compliance checks cover labeling, shipping marks, stickers, packaging and packing, mold contamination prevention, waterproof testing, and metal contamination prevention.
